Difference between Coated and Uncoated Paper Plates

Uncoated plates are made from pure pulp without using a coating such as PE or wax.  These are compostable and recyclable.  They have limited oil and liquid resistance and are unsuitable for holding large amounts of grease, sauces, heavy dishes or foods high in moisture and are suspectable to seepage or softening.  These plates are good for serving lighter food loads where seepage isn't a concern.

Coated paper plates have superior leak-proof performance, maintaining the plates integrity.  They have enhanced load-bearing performance and can withstand heavier dishes, oil foods and higher moisture levels.  They have wider applications serving all types of dishes.
